Some of you might be familiar with his name already, especially those who love to watch anime because it comes from the top-tier anime in Japan, Haikyuu. Kita Shinsuke aka Kitashin, a captain of the very solid team, Inarizaki. At first, he caught my attention by his presence only knowing there are Miya’s twins out there, but my eyes only focus on him. It’s a bit of an uncommon experience knowing that I usually fall for a character after figuring out her/his traits (e.g Akai/William/Megumi/Shiho/Oik/Tanjiro) but it didn’t work out for Kitashin. He has this strong aura that I am trying to search up how he’s been doing. If you watch Haikyuu, every captain has different vibes, let me clear up:
1. Daichi Samawura, a captain of Karasuno > very wise, a type of captain who will cheer + scold their team every time to keep their fire like a brother, a very-polite attitude.
2. Tooru Oikawa, a captain of Aoba Johsai aka Seijoh > very chill and calm, a type of captain who loves to joke and slengekan kind of. He processes each thing on the court and then gives instructions to the members what they should do. To be honest, he is my fav LOL.
3. Wakatoshi Ushijima, a captain of Shiratorizawa > the strongest and perfectionist, a type of captain who do not talk much, attack a lot, seemingly doesn’t care that much about his team skill (I mean, he knows exactly his teammates’ skill are beyond so he only focusses on his’).
4. Tetsuro Kuroo, a captain of Nekoma > very chill yet can balance all of his teammates’ skills + good at controlling their atmosphere, esp in a crucial set. He is good at both of defense and attack, but somehow he talks too much LOL (Bokuto’s effect).
5. Kotaro Bokuto, a captain of Fukurodani > Very very loud and attention seeker. LOL Im so sorry Bokuto, I couldn’t manage to analyze more of your leadership skill since you and your team appear in no much time in an official match. Akaashi is better choice I guess.
6. Kita Shinsuke, a captain of Inarizaki. Calm and serious, a type of captain whose presence can only change the atmosphere of the team. He gives me a “Shinichiro” vibe (Black Dragon Leader, Tokyo Revengers).
Compared to other captains, Kitashin is the only captain who doesn’t play much because his skill is mediocre. If I am not mistaken, he is not even a starter in a match and (almost got rejected in entering the team back then). Watching his flashback story, I see myself in him especially when it comes to the agreement of process. He likes doing daily stuff such as cleaning (valuing process most) which the majority of boys dislike. He doesn’t talk much, more mature, and only speaks matters. He is not the type of person who can motivate the others, even when they lost to Karasuno and Miya’s twins apologized, he only responded “Well? Isn’t my team amazing?” and everyone got teary-eyed. Some of his words that give me a feel:
1. Are you two (referring to Miya’s twins) trying to feel relief by apologizing? But only apologize when you truly feel bad.
2. In the end, results are just a byproduct.
See? I guess I adore him because he is more mature than anyone else in his age and already valued process most when many teens are result-oriented, even adults. In the end, my fav is still Oikawa but Kitashin got my respect the most.
